Hello and a Happy New Year too all,

on our bicycle tour through southern Africa in the middle of april 2013 we would like to use the border crossing Sango (Zimbabwe) - Chicualacuala (Mozambique).
We are not sure, whether this is possible, because on the Zimbabwean side of the road coming from Boli, we have to go through the Gonarezhou National Park . Does anyone of you know this road and can tell me, whether it is allowed to drive through the park with a bike?

Thanks in advance for valuable tips.
Regards, Anne

Hello.
We crossed the border two years ago, not a very good idea, from Boli to the border is full of elephants, to us were taken in a car to the border hunters.IIn the border no problem for get VISA. In the Mozambican side you have after 300km of sandy road, pretty boring .. From Chicualacuala you can take train to Maputo 1 time a week and the owner of the Hostel of Chiculacuala could help you.
Sorry for my English

Hi,
thanks for the information. I got it, when we were already on the way to MOC. But we had decided, not to take Chicualacuala, because it was a risk and we did not know how the road would be. Because of your information I know now, that it was a good idea, to take another way. We enjoyed our trip until now, in 3 weeks we will arrive in Cape Town and then go back to Germany.
Regards, Anne
